An alleged Dutch narcotics trafficker linked to the drug lord Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada was killed in the municipality of Atizapán de Zaragoza, in the State of Mexico. The individual, identified as Marco Ebben, was attacked by a group of armed men in the parking lot of Fraccionamiento Real Antigua, an area located in the luxurious residential development of Zona Esmeralda.
According to reports from local media, Ebben had faked his death several times to evade both justice and his enemies. He was listed among the most wanted by Europol and was sought for his connections to drug lord Zambada, as well as for his involvement in drug trafficking in several European countries.
The alleged drug trafficker had been missing for several months and, according to investigations, was last seen in Culiacán, Sinaloa, where he was shot at in September or October. Violence in Sinaloa, especially in Culiacán, has increased since September 2024 with over 800 homicides, due to the confrontation between the criminal cells of Los Chapitos and Los Mayos following the extradition to the United States of the co-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel, 'El Mayo' Zambada.
